Snetterton preparations please Bratt and Scorpio
Adderbury Formula Renault UK ace Will Bratt heads into
next weekend’s 13th and 14th rounds of the season
at Snetterton aiming to make yet another visit to the
podium having enjoyed a consistently productive test outing
at the Norfolk circuit today.
The Apotex Scorpio Motorsport ace, currently in the midst
of a superb run of success which has seen him appear on
the rostrum at each of the last three race meetings, is
looking forward to next weekend’s action and is
highly confident having ended today fifth fastest on combined
times with a best lap of 1m 05.659 seconds (107.02mph).
Will started the day as the fastest driver of all, the
aforementioned lap placing him at the top of the timesheets
0.167 seconds faster than championship leader Dean Smith,
but during session two the Loughborough-based Apotex Scorpio
squad elected to run the Oxon 19-year-old in the team’s
second car in order to conduct some ‘shake-down’
work.
The third and final session, which took place on a drying
track after some rainfall during the lunch-break, saw
Will continually among the top three or four runners and
he eventually ended up with the fifth fastest time of
1m 08.189 seconds (103.05mph).
“This afternoon was all about being the last car
out there really as the track was drying more and more
as the session progressed”, explained Will, “It
was still quite greasy but it was a useful session as
we’re anticipating similar weather next weekend,
it’s been good to learn what the car will do at
Snetterton in these conditions.
“I’m happy with the car, being quickest in
the first session was good and we made sure we have a
good set-up for next weekend’s races. In session
two the team decided we should give the second car a shake-down
and while we were out on track we were in the top three
which was positive.”
He added: “We’re really pleased with how today
has gone and while we were already feeling confident,
the work we’ve done today has been a pleasant boost.
Obviously I want to win next weekend but I think we can
confidently aim for a couple of podiums.”
Qualifying for round 13 of the Formula Renault UK Championship
will take place at Snetterton on Saturday, 28th July,
at 10.35 with the round 14 session to follow at 14.40.
Both races, which will be screened live on digital satellite
and cable subscription channel Setanta Sports 1, are scheduled
for Sunday, 29th July, with round 13 beginning at 11.10

be held on Friday, 27th July.
